“One thing have I asked of the Lord, that will I seek after: that I may dwell in the house of the Lord all the days of my life, to gaze upon the beauty of the Lord and to inquire in his temple.” ‭‭Psalm‬ ‭27:4‬

Have you ever been slack jawed by the glory of God? A breathtaking sunset? Perhaps a hike with a spectacular payoff? A Sunday morning sermon? Not feeling that last one? Many people find the experience of going to church on a Sunday morning as anything but awe inspiring. Not David… he was blown away by the God he came to worship.

“You have said, “Seek my face.” My heart says to you, “Your face, Lord, do I seek.” ‭‭Psalm‬ ‭27:8‬

What would it mean to seek God’s face in your life? In Jesus, we find a Savior with a face worth seeking. As the old hymn reminds us, “Turn your eyes upon Jesus, look full in His wonderful face. And the things of earth will grow strangely dim, in the light of His glory and grace.”

“I believe that I shall look upon the goodness of the Lord in the land of the living!” ‭‭Psalm‬ ‭27:13‬

Make it your ambition to pursue Jesus above all else. When your heart desires nothing more than to seek the Lord, you will find Him, and you will rest in His goodness in the land of those who are truly alive.
